day 84: the need for sleep

83:00
bolton 1 villa 1
was strugglin' to stay awake
lay on the bed for a moment
think i've managed to beat
the need for sleep
& catch pool vs gooners
comin' up
(my first big match since gettin' 'ere)

i've been playin' madden
to get a greater sense
of american football
my only knowledge prior were sports flicks:
friday night lights, remember the titans, gridiron gang etc
frustratin' @ first
but think i kinda got the hang of it

it's been a rather emo day
(an end-of-the-month thing for me)
thanks that i've got sands

to cheer me up
:)

almost 3 months...

day 79: いっしょに、行きませんか。

the title's my japanese pet phrase
it translates to:
"will you go together?"
i'm surprised sands
hasn't hung up on me
given the number of times
i've said it to her haha

had my jap midterm oral today
i would totally get a C if in NUS
but my sensei seem pleased
albeit a couple of pronunciation follies
& an awkward silence
while "waitin' for our food"
& i nailed my pet phrase of course

internet marketin' presentation
before that
had to pick a listed company under $10
& follow its progress
we went with TiVo
closed @ $6.79 yesterday
its $7.15 now (woot woot!)
fretted over my powerpoint design @ first
but i found my mojo
although i can rock it a lot more

NEWCASTLE UNITED 3 spurs 1
there was a time were
i took it for granted
we would lose a fixture like this
but this ain't the old NEWCASTLE UNITED
big sam's in town
& we've got the best strike force
in the country
why would you wanna leave mikey?

Jol: Newcastle not in our league
22/10/07

Martin Jol believes Tottenham's success over the last two seasons means it is impossible to compare them to Newcastle, their opponents on Monday evening.

Pundits have grouped the two clubs together in the clutch of teams looking to qualify for Europe and eventually break into the top four of the Barclays Premier League.

Jol feels that consecutive top-five finishes mean Spurs have already reached the heights that teams such as Newcastle aspire to.

"We had European football for the last two years and they didn't," Jol said. "Why would they be in the same boat?

"It would be fantastic for them if they were in the first six or seven - playing European football next season would be a good achievement for them.

"We already did that twice so it's different. We are in the group stages of the UEFA Cup and they would love to do that as well."

Eat this, Jol

day 77: forever young

nothin' much goin' on
just tryin' to get through
the last weeks of october
managed to catch the 1st half of boro vs chelski
& epl highlights on goaltube
(thanks arzick)
this is pretty hilarious
watch it

since we're on the subject of footy
england
i know mus is revelin' @ their plight
in a way
they're kinda like newcastle
hirin' souness & roeder
sadly i'd rate mcclown over them
but they all belong to the crap heap
droppin' becks
before crawlin' back to him
& boro would always play better
because they couldn't get any worse

i can't remember time before sven
but everytime england
got into a qualifyin' mess
i'd always get that feelin'
they'd still make it
however this time
it's out of their hands
& the feelin' ain't good
i can't imagine watchin' euro '08
without england
damn!

i'm down to the last season of
the O.C.
what am i gonna do?

day 71: 7-eleven

so about the futsal tournament
won 2, lost 2
unfortunately
we could only afford to lose 1
so we're out of next friday's reckonin'
i was stuck as goalie
didn't mind
because i felt like spider-man (spider sense tinglin')
or rather david james - problem with lofty balls
we were decent up front
but a woe @ the back
conceded too much
despite my best efforts
but it was fun
& cool to see the people we play with @ the park

intramurals were a disaster
our brilliant skipper
i reminded him to e-mail everyone
a couple of days back
about the game @ 940am
but he decided to text 'em
on game day @ 9ish

we barely made 7 people (the minimum)
& got thumped 7-0
the opposition were kind enough
to play 7 in the 2nd half
(albeit non-stop subbin')
couple of our players deserved a rollickin'
but i couldn't be bothered after half-time
it was just too hard playin' with 7
way to assume responsibility captain!

& i'm leavin' hawai'i...
in 59 days
& i can only count the days
til' i see my sands again
:)

day 67: nba live

let's begin
from the very beginnin'
thursday mornin' coffee
as per usual
after sports marketin' wisdom 101
picked up a copy of ka leo
& read it while takin' a dump at the QLCSS before COM201
as per usual
"warriors takes 111-110 preseason game victory over lakers"
damn!
they had the game @ the school stadium on tuesday
but they were facin' off again tonight
hmm...

for the briefest of moments
i was torn:
"play soccer? or watch 2 pro NBA teams?"
you would call it a "no-brainer"
decided to go late for internet marketin'
so i could get my ticket

sweet :)

went home
had some rent trouble with aaron "landlord lennon"
we were late again
he waived the $150 late fee
after i promised him it was the last
took just a 20min nap
because i decided to hit the stadium early
to take some shots (photos not bball)

i missed the lakers arrivin'
but managed to catch the warriors

people streamin' in...

to the lakers and laker girls!
L to R: e.broiwn & a.patterson
whitney, candace & lisa
j.crittenton
back & L: l.turner
c.seah

timeout (for more laker girls action)

halftime show

laker girls changed up

lakers get blitzed by warriors

bye girls...

all in all
it was great 1st NBA game
(heat vs timberwolves in miami will be a blast)
too bad kobe was injured in the 3rd
the game kind went flat after that
the lakers were bad
& kobe's too good for his teammates
the warriors were high on teamwork & had pretty good shooters
& baron davis didn't even play

i forgot to mention
sat beside this cool auntie
from hongkong but "no talk canto ah"
she knew her NBA
(she was the 1 who told me about baron davis)

UH futsal tournament tomorrow
need a REAL nap before that
cheerio~

miss my sands
wish you were @ the game with me
:)

day 65: i believe i can fly

still no photos
but what the heck
i'll blog anyway

i don't bring my camera out & about
because i figured: "do we really need 3 cameras to take the same photos?"
but now i realize that
photo-sharin' ain't a peach
you gotta throw in a couple of factors
such as laziness & troublesomeness
from now on
i'm bringin' me fuji with me

last night
skyped with sands til 2ish
& she gave me a mornin' call @ 7ish
i knew what i was sayin' to her
but the words were comin' out in a drunken stupor haha

my small coffee held up for sports marketin'
but not COM201
(i need medium on tuesdays & thursdays)
i dozed off in patches
but managed to wake up for this:

watch the whole of it
the part @ 2:30, freakin' cool eh?
impressed we were

puzzle-bobbled my way through internet marketin'
& survived japanese desu
went to waikiki to return a pair of slippers
& check out quiksilver shades
(thinkin' of gettin' one or maybe not)
fruits & veggie shoppin' @ chinatown
before headin' home
man... i was so tired today
i actually wanted to skip internet marketin'
to go nap somewhere

if u guys haven't read my bro arzick's rant on "our" school,
u should
he pens my sentiments
only in a more poetic sense

party in the city where the heat is on
all night, on the beach till the break of dawn
welcome to miami
buenvenidos a miami

&

hosted by yours truly, c-fed
& 'ere we go:

what i see when i turn my head right
before i head down for school

here's where i do my washin'

& park my ride

steppin' into the hood

& cuttin' across the carpark

to where my stop lies

i get my caffeine fix

and sit, wait, wish for the bus

where i check daily for sands' postcards :)

what i see when i look up
before i climb the stairs of doom

what i see when i open sesame

kitchen nightmares & the one-too-often course

shower power

& where the magic doesn't happen

the wahine bedroom

& the lanai with the table
that never was meant to be

well folks,
that's the pilot & grand finale of
